There is something about my main wedding venue – Buxted Park Hotel – that I love. I have been their recommended wedding photographer since 2003 and I recently returned there again for Emma and Martyn’s big day.
Emma and Martyn had a small, intimate wedding with the ceremony in the beautiful Orangery followed by the wedding breakfast in the stunning Ballroom.
Buxted Park Estate in Ashdown Forest dates from 1199 – unfortunately the original house was destroyed by fire in the early 1700s. The current Georgian house is a Grade II listed mansion originally built in 1725, restored and remodelled in 1940 after it too was damaged by fire. It contains some of the finest examples of Georgian architecture and interiors to be found and the imposing pillars and stone steps lend themselves to some great shots. The house stands in 312 acres of Sussex countryside surrounded by formal gardens, lakes and parkland where herds of deer roam free.
It is a fantastic venue – www.handpickedhotels.co.uk/buxtedpark – and on Sunday 10 July 2016 they are holding a wedding showcase day from 12:00 until 16:00 when you will get the opportunity to view all the fabulous hotel facilities, including the Ballroom and Orangery Suites, set up for a wedding breakfast and civil ceremony.
