I have been a recommended photographer at Buxted Park Hotel since 2003. In all seasons and weathers (some very inclement), Sarah Critchlow Photography has been there! But the rain held off on Saturday for Jacqui and Duncan and there was a mix of bright sunshine and dramatic skies. It is a wonderful venue and always such a pleasure to go back there.
Jacqui and Duncan’s marriage took place at St. Margaret’s Church in Buxted Park. St Margaret’s was built around 1250AD, and is situated to the west of the village, and in the grounds of the Buxted Park Hotel. There is nothing better than the bride and groom leading their guests back from the church to the hotel. The village of Buxted in East Sussex was originally based around the church until, in the 19th century, the 3rd Lord Liverpool became the owner of the Park House and landlord of the village. He allowed the housing to deteriorate and encouraged the population to move away to the other side of the valley!
Back at the hotel and resident Master of Ceremonies, Marc Desseaux ensured the day ran smoothly in his own unique way. The flowers and room decoration were as fantastic as ever, created by Pollen Flowers, award winning florists of Hove – www.pollenflowers.co.uk
It was a day filled with lots of laughter (especially by the beautiful bride and her fabulous bridesmaids) and the infectious happiness from the wedding party seems to radiate from the selection of photographs I’ve included.
